Paul Otremba was the author of three poetry collections, The Currency (Four Way Books 2009), Pax Americana (Four Way Books 2015), and Levee (Four Way Books, forthcoming). Born and raised in Minnesota, a professor at Rice University in Texas, Paul published widely in journals, including Kenyon Review, New England Review, Southwest Review, and multiple appearances on Poetry Daily. In honor of his poetry, he received scholarships and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, a Barthelme Memorial Fellowship, a Krakow Poetry Seminar Fellowship, and a prize from the Academy of American Poets. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Paul passed away June 24, 2019. He was forty years old. Come help us remember him and celebrate his work.
